The Program is managed by the United States - Japan Foundation (see the Foundation's website for a list of the Foundation's Board of Trustees). The Program director is Dr. George R. Packard, President of the Foundation in New York, and former Dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, DC. The Program's deputy director is Mr. Takeo Takuma, Vice President of the Foundation in Tokyo, and former officer of the Bank of Tokyo. An Executive Committee of Japanese and American Fellows (participants who successfully attended a previous conference in both the U.S. and Japan) of the Program will assume an increasing share in the planning and conduct of future conferences.
