Application Procedures
Application Procedures for the Seattle 2008 Conference
Interested Japanese and American candidates should prepare the following documents (English is preferred, but Japanese will be accepted.):
1. A detailed resume (curriculum vitae) listing achievements, a passport sized photo, and the following information: date of birth, social security number (for American citizens), current title and affiliation, preferred contact information including telephone and fax numbers and an email address;
2. A letter of recommendation from an individual who is a leader in your field;
3. A personal statement of two or three pages by the candidate explaining how and why participation in the program would be interesting and/or beneficial to your career.
Applicants should send applications via regular mail as soon as possible, but no later than January 15, 2008. American citizens should send applications to the New York Office, and Japanese citizens should send applications to the Tokyo Office (please see mailing addresses below)

Selection of Delegates
The Fellows Executive Committee will be asked to present recommendations to the Foundation from among the pool of applicants. Due consideration will be given to diversity of gender, political, regional, social and educational backgrounds. The final decision on delegates will be made by the Foundation. The Foundation intends to notify all applicants of the decisions in March 2008.
Invitation to the Japan 2007 Conference
Delegates who successfully participate in the Seattle 2008 (or another previous conference in Seattle) for the first time, will be invited to attend their second conference in Japan 2009.
